Beautiful Winter

Generally I am not a fan of winter, but I’ll make an exception today, since it’s gloriously spring-like out there! So I celebrated this fabulous weather Friday with a nice hike/walk to work. I was extra lucky and my husband needed to go to the post office, so he walked all they way with me. Talk about a nice start to the day! :)

Armadillo tail

Most mornings, my husband and I go out for a walk around 6am. I don’t think either of us has ever seen a live armadillo (though sadly there’s a dead one on my running route). We were actually closer to him and he was facing us for a few seconds, but by the time I got my phone out, unlocked, and whispered a few curse words, all I caught was his tail scurrying into a bush.

Hello

I can’t really call myself a runner yet, but I’m aspiring. I’m working my way through Couch to 5K – at slower paces than I would like, but I’m sticking to it through the hills and the TX heat (even though I run before 6am most mornings).

I used to be a blogger – many moons ago, when you knew everyone on the “just updated” list, but it’s been a long long while since I’ve blogged regularly. I’ve been so inspired by reading some running blogs though, I hope I find even more motivation and inspiration in keeping my own.

Almost a minimalist’s bag

almost a minimalists bag

I’ve always loved the ‘in my bag’ meme, and since it seems to be going around again, and since I found the right cord to go to the camera, I thought it was a great time to participate.

I’ve never been an everything-but-the-kitchen-sink kinda purse girl, but over the past few years, I think I’ve conscientiously emptied my purse of the clutter and chosen the items that work for me.

Evolving Bliss

I’m starting this blog to explore a new phase of my life. My husband and I recently moved to Austin, where I’m discovering joy in things I never expected. I’m find that I truly enjoy hiking, I like my new job – where the boundaries between work and play are more defined, and I’m feeling more drawn to minimalism.

There are so many moments of bliss I have left to experience.
